Amy Fugman is a second-generation Journal-listed Christian Science nurse. She received her classroom training in Christian Science nursing at Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association and at Tenacre, and completed her OJT at Peace Haven Association. Amy has served in many capacities through the years, including: running a home-based care facility for Christian Scientists with her mother; managing several Visiting Christian Science Nursing programs; serving as Director of Christian Science Nursing and Executive Director of a Christian Science nursing facility and residential community; and supervising and mentoring at several facilities in the Midwest. She enjoys working with children, and has had the privilege of serving as a Christian Science nurse in camp settings and at Principia School.
Amy has a BS in Public Administration from Upper Iowa University. Her family (including husband Varon, their two sons and a foster daughter, plus one very spoiled cat) live in St. Louis, MO where Amy often feels like an Uber driver as she actively supports their interests in the St. Louis Zoo teen volunteer program, musical theater, NLC, the animal shelter, sports and music. She currently teaches Middle Schoolers in Sunday School and has been an active volunteer for over 10 years with Boy Scouts of America. Amy especially enjoys family time, game nights and hanging out with friends, home improvement shows and home projects (well…the end results!), and borrowing friends’ dogs to take on walks. In addition to being on the CSNN board, Amy also serves on the board of The Commission for Accreditation of Christian Science Nursing Organizations/Facilities, Inc.
