News and Notices – October 2021

Dearest Friends,

In the Northern Hemisphere, the hues and tints of splendid autumn colors are surrounding us. We hope all of you enjoyed a fruitful and productive summer.

The CSNN board is grateful to those organizations who provide Continuing Education webinars for Christian Science nurses worldwide. Details of forthcoming webinars can be found on our website, under the Continuing Education tab. We’re also grateful to the UK-based committee that organized a two-day online conference for Christian Science nurses in the UK and Europe, which took place in mid-October.

In recent months, the board has given prayerful consideration to our mission statement: “[To support] the healing ministry of Christian Science nursing worldwide by providing opportunities for communication, inspiration and continuing education for Christian Science nurses.”

We’ve been giving special thought to our role in organizing an in-person International Christian Science Nursing Conference (ICSNC). The last in-person ICSNC took place in 2019. In February this year we organized a one-day online ICSNC which was attended by over two hundred and fifty participants.

The AOCSN conference is scheduled to take place in Columbus, Ohio, from May 2-6, 2022. Several CSNN board members currently serve as directors of Christian Science nursing and managers. They, along with many other Journal-listed Christian Science nurses, will be expecting to attend this conference. In considering the timing of our next conference, the board feels it is impractical – because of the work and travel commitments of participants – to have two international conferences for Christian Science nurses taking place in the same year. The CSNN board therefore announces that the next ICSNC will take place at CedarS CampS in Lebanon, Missouri, in September 2023. Details regarding the dates of the 2023 ICSNC will be provided in a forthcoming newsletter. The board will be working on a theme and agenda for the conference next year.

God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister….Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

(Hebrews 6:10, 14.)

With much gratitude for your dedicated work, and with much love,

The CSNN Board
