News and Notices – April 2022
Greetings, Dear Friends!
It is always good to hear of Christian Science nursing activity in the Christian Science periodicals. The CSNN board appreciated a testimony entitled “Christian Science nursing has a role in healings” in the March 2022 edition of The Christian Science Journal (pages 39-40). The author of the testimony refers to Christian Science nursing as a vital component of the Church founded by Mary Baker Eddy.
We need to inform you that our good friend and colleague Beatrix von Meier-Ince passed on in February this year. Beatrix joined the CSNN board in May 2021. We always appreciated her generous and thoughtful participation in our monthly Zoom meetings. Beatrix’s ministry as a Christian Science nurse inspired and enriched all who worked with her. Beatrix will be missed by us all, but as we move forward with our board activity this year we are mindful of her important contribution to our work and grateful for her steadfast support.
There is good progress to report with regard to the Collaborative Groups who work in support of Christian Science nursing. You can access their latest newsletter by clicking on their notice below.
The CSNN board would like to respectfully remind Christian Science nurses of the vital importance of identifying ourselves as Christian Science nurses in all our communication, both written and verbal. This constitutes an important component of obedience to the bylaw for the Christian Science nurse established by Mrs. Eddy in the Manual of The Mother Church. This correct representation of our title is vital not just in our relations with the public and with government authorities, but also in our interaction with colleagues and fellow church members.
The Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. Isaiah 58:11
With much love to each of you,
The CSNN Board
